About Us
Edmonds Elementary School will take the following measures to promote and
support parents and family members as an important foundation of the school to
strengthen the school and reach our school goals. We will:
✓ Ensure that all information related to school and parent programs,
meetings, and other activities is published in an understandable format,
and to the extent practicable in a language the parents can understand,
and posted on the school website and include
✓ Report the results of the annual school review (CCRPI Status) to parents at the beginning of the
school year. Information on school performance is available on the school’s website and sent
home annually with students.
✓ Make sure parents receive a copy of their child’s assessment results whenever a national, state or
district level assessment is given. A parent report explanation guide is provided with the national
and state assessment so parents can understand the meaning of the results. Every effort is made
to provide parents with conference time to share the results and answer questions.
✓ Share information in English and Spanish on the school website and in the school newsletter for
parents to understand the school’s academic standards and assessments as well as the ways
parents can monitor their child’s progress and work with educators.
✓ Communicate with all families and the community on a regular basis regarding school wide
events and activities, through ROBO calls, social media, marquee, and flyers.
✓ Work with our parents to develop relevant trainings and helpful presentations to educate our staff
on the importance of parent and family engagement and how to support student learning.
✓ Provide necessary materials and handouts for parents at conferences, meetings, and activities to
help parents work with their child to improve their child’s achievement.
✓ Throughout the school year Edmonds Elementary will provide training and materials
for parents and students to achieve academic goals.
✓ Offer literacy and computer classes for parents and family members to help
further enhance their various educational levels.
✓ Collect feedback from parents and family members at all events,
place input cards around the building and post a suggestion form on
the school website to respond to parents’ requests for additional
support for parent and family engagement activities.
