Principal's Corner

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Edmonds Elementary! Our theme is “Student Success Starts With Us.” When families, students, and staff work together, our children have the best chance to succeed.

This year, we need your help with a few important expectations:

  • Attendance: Students should attend school every day and arrive on time. Missing even a few days can make it harder for a child to keep up.
  • School hours: School begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 2:15 p.m. Students may enter the building beginning at 6:45 a.m.
  • Cell phones and electronic devices: In accordance with Georgia’s Distraction-Free Education Act, students may not access personal electronic devices during the school day. Devices must remain turned off and stored away from arrival through dismissal.
  • Clear book bags: All students must use a clear bookbag. This district requirement applies to students in Pre-K through Grade 12.
  • Uniforms: Students must wear the Edmonds school uniform each day. Approved shirt colors are royal blue, yellow, white, black, or grey. Pants, skirts, or shorts must be khaki, navy blue or black. Students may wear school spirit shirts or school colors with jeans on designated Fridays. Jeans may not have rips, tears, or holes.
  • Student behavior: Students should follow directions, respect others, and come prepared to learn.

These expectations are simple, but they matter. Students cannot learn if they are not at school, on time, prepared, and focused.

Families are an important part of our work. Please stay connected, read school messages, attend events, and contact us when you need help. Ask before the deadline. We would rather help early than try to fix a problem later.

Thank you for trusting us with your children. They are all our kids, and Student Success Starts With Us.

Sincerely,
Marques Strickland
